AS SEEN ON THE STREET

AS SEEN ON THE STREET: AFRICA

Many places, many everyday perspectives

SERIES INTRODUCTION · 27 OCTOBER 2026

No single street can tell the story of a continent. The Africa Series begins with a more specific invitation: share one moment from a place you know, and explain the lesson it offered you.

The scene might involve daily work, a shared journey, a repair, a conversation or an act of care. Name the city or broad area if you are comfortable doing so. Describe the action clearly before offering your interpretation.

A useful post gives readers context without treating one experience as representative of an entire country or region. Avoid generalisations about how African people live, think or work. Let the people and places in your observation retain their particularity.

You do not need a dramatic image. A small practical detail may prompt a reflection about resourcefulness, patience, responsibility or community. Ask what someone elsewhere could learn—and what context they would need to understand it fairly.

Share only a photo or short video you captured and have permission to publish. Keep home addresses and other private details out. Credit contributors who choose to be named. The aim is a growing collection of perspectives, with room for many different voices.

Every place has a lesson. Let its people tell the story.
